Sweaterhex is run by Ellie O’Hern, and was born out of a love for classic design and timeless craftsmanship.  The name is based on the lore of the ‘curse of the boyfriend sweater’, a homage to the women before me who belived in the power of the items we create and the ability clothes and craft have to bring us closer to ourselves.

My design is greatly influenced by materials and machines- after all, that’s where art begins. I use a 100 year old Vintage Singer Hand-Cranked Chainstitch Machine to create truly one of a kind pieces.
